College.

I found out last night that someone on the course I am on has been given a seen exam question weeks before everyone else was given it and also has been given all the new unit stuff much sooner than it has been accessible to everyone else.

I'm disgusted by this as it is hardly fair and also this person has got pretty high grades. Makes you wonder really. Part of me wants to take the main tutor (who is the one responsible for doing this) aside and just saying that I know about it and it's hardly fair on everyone else, but part of me thinks it is best just to keep quiet.

Re: College.

I think you have a responsibility to report what you know to the college authorities and let them deal with it.

I agree with Simon.

Re: College.

Do you have a personal tutor that you could talk to about it Sam ? If not is there a Year lead for the course that you're doing or a Pathway Director (I'm thinking of who we have at uni)

I wouldn't take it to the tutor responsible, as far as I'm concerned it should be a disciplinary matter against them and ultimately they could (should) lose their job.

It's a matter of compromised integrity and from what you've said it's a bigger issue.

Re: College.

I agree with what Simon says, but am conscious that it may put you in a difficult position.

Is there anyone at the college you trust who you could chat to about this before reporting it?

(one of our local college depts has recently made two of their best lecturers redundant in favour of two "favourites of the management, so that is where my bias/caution comes from)

Re: College.

I really am unsure as to what to do. The main tutor of the course is lovely and been doing it for years, and she is the one who gave out the information. I was thinking on just taking her to one side and telling her I was aware of it, but chances are it will get back to the girl and I have another 3 years at uni with her so could make it difficult for me.

Part of me is saying tell, part is saying just forget it, course is almost over and just get on with it.
