Yearly Rant
Getting to be a habbit innit?
Had the man and his kids over for a BBQ last night. He said they couldn't stay as the kids were supposed to go home for the night to spend the day with their Mum (as she's not on shift today) So we arrange to go out today (just us two) and quel surprise she hasn't turned up for the kids so he's saddled with them until she decides to show up or send her houskeeper for them. And on top of that, he's skint (she never sent them with housekeeping for the week as she was supposed to have them back) so I've had to lend him money. And finally she's done her 'I must have to the whole of June on a beach trick' and informed 'B' he's looking after the kids for a month and doing the 30 mile a day round trip school run, which for a well man would be a feat, but for a disabled one is taking the piss, she NEVER asks if it's ok or if he's well enough! He told her last year he's NOT well enough to look after the kids for weeks on end and his PD nurse agrees, but she just laughed and said that until he's in a wheelechair he's fit enough! I KNOW I had this moan last year and I know there's nothing we can do about it (unless we go AWOL for June - which I can't as I'm now back in work) but it pisses me off to see him getting steadily worse as the weeks go on. He has them the 6 week holiday as it is. The kids don't get a holiday as he can't afford it on DLA and she won't take them as having a month away means she's no holidays left come August..... I wish I could win the lottery, take him on a cruise in June and have her holiday ruined when she's no-one to babysit for her..... No replies necessary........ there's no solution unless (god forbid) he has another 'attack' and ends up in hospital with the stress and even then he'd still have to look after them as there's no-one else to do it. His Dad moved house so we can't ask him to have them for a week ot two.... *sigh* He's going to be dead by 50 if this keeps up.

Re: Yearly Rant
Biro, I know you don't need a reply. But I just wanted you to know... You've made me feel less alone with my own problems by sharing yours.

Re: Yearly Rant
Thanks...
BUT I should have updated. Now she's decided to become a PCSO they won't let her have more than a week off so she had to cancell her holidays *snigger* went to re-book, only School holidays left, which she can't afford and are booked up anyway *double snigger* She's now reduced to having a week in October which co-incides with Half Term so her kids nagged at her to take them with her as they wont be getting a holiday this year. Surprisingly she agreed to this and so now Blair will only have to have them from this Friday till September. It's still seven weeks, but as most of his siblings are teachers, there's an open invite for him to visit each one for a week so his kids will have gardens to play in and cousins to play with... We've just had a very emotional goodbye for the summer, they arrive Friday morning for the duration, he wont be able to come to see me while they are living there and I can't stay over because of my lad I will miss him.......

Re: Yearly Rant
Serves the silly cow right! I hope that at some point things can change for you both so that he can look after himself more. x
